Proposed Installation of Artificial Turf on the School Field (SD)
In late 2015, the School took a difficult decision to install a 4th Generation (4G) artificial turn only in the area inside the track. In this letter, I seek to explain the rationale behind the School’s proposal, address specific concerns regarding health and safety, and suggest actions for continued information gathering.

We have pleasure in announcing the “2015 Fete Concert”, presented by the Graduation Class of 1975 with support from Diocesan Boys’ School Foundation Limited, DBS Parent Teacher Association, Diocesan School Old Boys’ Association and DBS Garden Fete Committee.
The concert is to raise funds for DBS Foundation and will be presented in two parts on Sunday, 8 November 2015, the date of this year’s DBS Garden Fete. An afternoon outdoor concert will be staged at the New Wing Lawn from 1:00 to 5:00pm featuring band performances by students, teachers, old boys and friends of DBS with sponsorship. Admission is free.
The evening gala concert at the Yunni and Maxine Pao Auditorium will start at 7:30pm to showcase a number of Hong Kong’s top performers, including our old boy George Lam, popular singer Justin, up-and-coming talents Alex Lam and Jonathan Wong…etc., along with some of Hong Kong’s top muscians. The evening will begin with a performance by our Primary Division Senior School Orchestra.

Currently directed by Eastman alumni, the orchestra has been regarded as Hong Kong’s best youth string orchestra for the past 11 years. The concert will feature works from Shostakovich, Benjamin Britten, and Edward Elgar.
